Errata

Errata for Elgar Variations:
Sent directly from Martin Ellerby (please note - as stated on the errata document, the vast majority of errata points are for the original version & any sets purchased after April 2007 should be mostly unaffected). Elgar Variations Errata » (26Nov25)

Variations on Was Lebet:
From Composer, Andrew Wainwright (25Jan26) - I wanted to make you aware of a minor issue in the score for 'Variations on Was Lebet' that has recently been highlighted to me by a couple of conductors. At figure DD, a 'piu mosso, minim = 69' is marked but it is at essentially the same tempo as is marked prior to that (138 crotchets per minute at the start of the movement and then minim = 69 at DD.)

I don't believe the 'piu mosso' should be there at all. Looking at my original version it's not actually there, so I wonder if somehow it got added in the editing process.

I will leave it to your discretion as to if you want to issue an errata, but thought I would make you aware. This is not something that has been communicated to me before, having been used at the Dutch Nationals last year, and I'm not aware of any other errata.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea:
Clarification - Water Gong. After speaking to the Music Panel, they believe the water gong is not an issue as the score states that a tam-tam or cymbal can be used instead. Exact wording in the score: "Percussion 2 - water gong (or tam-tam, or cymbal)". Bands may use any of these options, and no competing band will be penalised for choosing not to include a water gong.
Additional Errata (27Jan26)

Feb Update: Eventz will be supplying a Water Gong at the contest...
